Sinopsis

This article is devoted to experimental researches of the influence of the plasma arc impingement on the surface layer of armored large-size billets during their thermal-and-mechanical processing. Methods of measuring the local distribution of electrical current have been worked out and a sensor with a new design has been created, which allowed to increase the limits of measurement by about 10 folds. The temperature and the electron concentration in the plasma were studied with the help of the method of absolute intensity of continuum. Data on the main distribution of temperature and the electron concentration in the plasma allowed to define the thickness alteration of the boundary layer on the basis of spot radius hence calculate the field component of the current density, diffusive one, the thermal diffusive one.
