STRUCTURE EVOLUTION OF SPRAYS IN COAXIAL JET BURNERS

DOI: 10.1615/ICLASS-94.1000
pages 780-786

Résumé

Data are reported on a complete characterisation of sprays generated by an air-blast atomizer in different coaxial jet configurations. Variations in the drop size, velocity, root mean square velocity and concentration distributions with downstream distance and radial extent were analysed and compared for three flow configurations. Attempts were made to explain these variations. The analysis included the study of the gas flow field by a CFD code. The data provide an example of the complete spray characterisation needed to get new insights into the complex phenomena occurring in the development of sprays generated by air blast atomizers in practical flow field configurations.
