Résumé

Emission spectroscopy has been used to carry out temperature measurements on atmospheric pressure surface-wave sustained plasmas in argon and neon gases. OH molecular spectra and atomic spectral line profiles were employed to determine the discharge rotational and translational temperatures, respectively. The rotational temperature (Trot) is found to be lower than the translational temperature (Tg). Although radial constriction of the discharge is higher in argon than in neon, we found Tg(neon) ~ Tg(argon) and Trot(neon) ~ Trot(argon).
