Investigation of oxygen electroreduction at the Pt(O2) electrode in molten alkali chlorides
Résumé
Oxygen electroreduction at the Pt(02) electrode in molten sodium, potassium and cesium chlorides was studied using the stationary voltammetry method. The cathodic process was found to be controlled by the diffusion of both oxide, peroxide, superoxide ions and molecular oxygen. An analysis of the experimental current-potential curves shows that the O2- ion is the basic product of the cathodic reaction, regardless of the alkali oxide concentration, oxygen partial pressure, or temperature.
