Résumé
Measurement of manufacturing performance for continuous improvement is essential for companies in order to deliver outstanding customer service from reliable assets operated by highly motivated people that exhibit operational excellence. Operational excellence and performance improvement can only be achieved by adopting the appropriate practices. In this paper the gaps in manufacturing performance are identified through an assessment methodology and CIM has been proposed as one of the manufacturing concepts and practices which can be used for performance improvement. Case studies are presented on how CIM can enable process companies the way forward to integration of business and Manufacturing strategy throughout the supply chain.
