Résumé
To address the problems of changes and disturbances in manufacturing systems, holonic manufacturing was proposed, combining the best of both hierarchical and heterarchical control. This paper presents three generic concepts for holonic manufacturing control. They are extracted from the experience we obtained from the design and implementation of a holonic manufacturing control system at the K.U.Leuven. The concepts are: hierarchy in distributed control, distributed decision power and concurrent scheduling and schedule execution.
