Résumé

Magnetically driven arcs in air moving between parallel rail electrodes and rotating in annulus are considered. Effect of the interelektrode gap size and magnetic field induction on current-voltage characteristics is investigated by sequential selection of dominant similarity numbers. Convective heat transfer is shown to be dominant at low gaps and magnetic induction, but the role of turbulent transfer becomes more important with gap and magnetic field rise.
