A 3-phase plasma reactor has been developed in the frame of researches on Carbon Black production from hydrocarbon cracking. The process optimization has led us to
characterize the pilot into two main directions : arc zone behavior and general flow field into the reactor. The arc zone analysis has been carried out using ultra high-speed cine-camera.
The flow in the reactor has been modelled with a CFD code. Results have been compared with experimental measurements.
