H-Y ZEOLITE SUPPORTED PALLADIUM SYSTEMS: THE ROLE IN THE HYDROGEN STORAGE

Résumé

In this paper it is demonstrated that deuterium (D) atoms formed at the surface of small Pd(0) clusters, located in the supercages of H-Y zeolite, can migrate through the hexagonal windows and penetrate the sodalite cages at room temperature. The effect is particularly evident for highly dispersed systems, whose dispersion is monitored through the IR spectra of adsorbed CO. The spillover of the D atoms, through the framework, is evidenced by the fast OH/OD transformation of the Brønsted sites, located in the supercages and in the sodalite cages.
