USE OF TWO-PHASE CLOSED THERMOSYPHON IN CONCRETE CURING PROCESS: COMPARISON OF ANALYSIS AND EXPERIMENT

DOI: 10.1615/IHPC1990v2.330
pages 319-326

Résumé

The comparison between experimental results and those of the numerical analysis on the performance of thermosyphons, used as a heat transfer device during the curing process of large scale concrete structures is present. The temperature rise in the concrete and associated heat transfer process during the early stages of curing under various conditions are reported.
The study in general confirms the findings obtained by our numerical analysis but also showed that more accurate information on the heat of cement hydration is needed for such heat transfer analysis related to concrete curing process as in the present application of thermosyphons.
