Specific Adsoprtion (or heterophase complex formation) of nickel and cobalt complexes on a silver electrode in chloride melts
Résumé
In the silver surface positive charge region, three double electrical layers (DEL) differing in structure are formed on silver in a molten electrolyte (700°C): in the supporting NaCl-KCl electrolyte, DEL is formed by electrostatically adsorbed dipoles Cl- - Na+(K+); in the melts NaCl-KCl-NiCl2 and NaCl-KCl-CoCl2 a replacement of Cl- in the DEL by the complex anions NiCl64- and CoCl42- takes place, which is accompanied by the formation of complex heterophase groups and, ultimately, by an increase in Cmin capacity, Ezc shift towards more negative E values and a corresponding change in Q charge.
