Forum on Immunopathological Diseases and Therapeutics

Objectifs et champs d'application

The aim of Forum on Immunopathological Diseases and Therapeutics (FIDT) is two-fold, namely, (1) to publish highly focused issues by expert Guest Editors on topics that cover diseases that are immunologically mediated and novel therapeutic interventions and (2) continue now to serve as the publication vehicle for a series of workshops on important and timely diseases, gene product(s)/drug(s), that are critical in the pathogenesis, progression and disease manifestations. The workshops that give rise to the special issues cover topics might include biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, genetics, molecular and cellular mechanisms of disease, clinical studies and new innovative therapies. A given workshop or a special issue is highly focused and invited speakers or contributors are selected from active investigators who are leaders in the field of the topic of each workshop or the special issue.
The workshop consists of individualized sessions and each session is concluded with a discussion and expert opinions and recommendations made by other invited experts in light of current progress in the field. The Guest Editor(s) of a special issue will solicit various authors with expertise in the topic selected.
The authors of the articles (and workshop participants) are chosen from a small number of established basic scientists and clinical investigators. As a result, each issue(s) of the journal will deal with a specific timely and relevant subject. The manuscripts are reviewed in the usual manner by outside reviewers, Guest Editors, and/or FIDT Editors. The special issue(s) will be published no later than three months after final review and acceptance by the series Editors. A major goal of the journal is to attain further integration of the various presentations and discussion topics pertaining to the themes of the workshop or the special issue.
