Objectifs et champs d'application

Technobiology is a cross-disciplinary journal publishing significant and groundbreaking experimental and theoretical results in the rapidly emerging field of technobiology from the perspective of the enabling and groundbreaking medical technology discoveries and applications. During the last decade, the field of medical research in general and nanomedicine in particular has greatly leverage nanotechnology for achieving gamechanging diagnostic and treatment milestones. Significant progress has achieved using biotechnology; there are endless computational resources and chemical databases to identify immunotherapeutic biomolecules that could target almost any disease-specific biomarker. Conversely, the technobiology approach that exploits physics, chemistry, computer science, and advanced nanoengineering to control underlying molecular mechanisms, e.g., using intrinsic electric, magnetic, magneto-electric, optical, thermal, and other fields, is still in its early development stage. While biotechnology addresses diseases at levels of cells and tissues, technobiology also considers the role these treated cells and tissues play in the big picture of the internet of the human body. The collective behavior of the biological cells in the human body can be described as the internet of the human body. Technobiology aims to develop novel technology concepts to understand the complex nature of this interaction. Being complementary to biotechnology, technobiology can make its own contribution to making next-generation personalized and precision medicine a reality.
The diverse topics covered in Technobiology would reflect the most current advances in technobiology, including:

  • Neuroengineering and neurotechnology,
  • theory of brain functions, brain-inspired technology concepts,
  • reverse engineering the brain,
  • bioelectronic medicine,
  • Technologies for personalized and precision medicine, targeted drug delivery
