This movie shows the smoke visualization for the cross sections of the jet that model the instability of the laminar round jet with the parabolic mean velocity profile against the weak cross flow. The laminar jet is seen to undergo deformation in the form of a crescent due to the gas ejection from the jet periphery in two tangential jets that tend to fold into two counter-rotating vortices
