要約

The interaction of particle laden spray with cocurrent flow was studied experimentally. A particle injection test facility was designed to simulate the conditions encountered in induct flue gas desulfurization processes where sorbent particle laden spray is injected into cocurrent flowing flue gas. Spherical glass particles in the size range of 2-100 µm were used. The mass loading was varied between 0 to 10.Phase Doppler Anemometry, which utilises phase Doppler interferometry and Laser Doppler anemometry, was used for measuring the particle velocities and sizes ,and gas phase velocities in the flow field. Particle and gas mean and fluctuating turbulent intensities and concentrations were obtained. It was observed that there is a reduction in the spreading rate, entertainment and the turbulence level as the particle loading is increased.
