要約
Investigations were carried out on a point-to-plane air gap under AC voltages, with a dielectric barrier covering the plane electrode in order to avoid arcing, while generating filamentary discharge channels with larger currents than in usual streamers and producing non equilibrium plasmas warmer (1000 and 2500 K) than conventional cold plasmas.
Due to this large temperature range, such discharges are of practical interest for various gas depollution purposes including the removal from flue gas of volatile organic compounds (VOC), with a good compromise between a high conversion rate of the target molecule and a minimized production of undesirable species such as nitrogen oxides.
