要約

Flames and combustion zones in sprays present many interesting but difficult modelling problems, very similar to the ones that have been studied from about fifty years in turbulent simple phase flames. The first part of this paper presents a discussion of the small scale structures of spray flames, in a similar manner as in turbulent flames, depending on some relevant non dimensional parameters. In the second part, two particular problems are studied, trying to improve the existing models by taking into account more deeply the small scale structure of the flame. The propagation of a flame zone in a "premixed spray" including the effects of interactions between burning droplets, and a stabilized non premixed turbulent spray flame, with taking into account the presence of flamelets between the droplets, are the two examples studied here.
