要約

A constant-property finite element model has been developed to study the burning characteristics of an array of fuel droplets in the presence of a convective flow field. The configurations considered include two or three droplets arranged in tandem. Results have been obtained with methanol as the fuel. Surface evaporation velocity, flame shape, isotherms, and mass fraction contours of fuel and oxygen are some of the results predicted by the present model. These results are compared with the numerical results of Tsai and Sterling obtained with a variableproperty model with finite-rate kinetics. It is possible to bring close agreement between the constant-property and variable-property models by appropriate selection of temperature and concentration values.
