Based on the theoretical analysis of erosion caused by flying ash in plain-tube economizer of power station boiler, this paper presents a mathematical model to describe the bundle erosion characteristic and the experimental research data to make out the functional relation between relative mass erosion rate and geometric parameters for various arrangement patterns. The obtained formula can be used to make an immediately comparison on the erosion extent of a plain-tube economizer for various geometric parameters while the coal, pipe materials and the arrangement remain the same. It can also be used as a reference for industrial applications.
