要約

Open types of radial impellers have only one shroud and are open on one side. Due to pressure difference through the tip clearance, a tip flow occurs between the pressure and suction surface of blades. This flow causes a disturbance in the main flow, which results in pressure and flow losses. In the present study, Pfleiderer's Method was used for predicting of clearance losses in open radial impellers and also a new modified theoretical model was developed for predicting the pressure losses at zero clearance.
