要約

The flow field of a confined impinging jet has been investigated experimentally and numerically. The velocity and pressure distributions in the impingement region were obtained over a Reynolds number range of 1000 to 5000 and a nozzle to plate spacings range of 0.5 to 2. The effects of Reynolds number and nozzle to plate spacing on the flow structure are reported. It is concluded that a subatmospheric region occurs on the impingement plate at high Reynolds number (Re>2700) for all nozzle to plate spacing studied.
