要約
The worldwide dependence on fossil fuels as the primary
energy source has had serious consequences over recent
years. Fossil fuels are also proven to be the root cause of
greenhouse emissions leading to global warming.
Furthermore fossil fuel reserves are finite and are being
depleted rapidly as the worldwide energy demand increases
with population and industrialization.
Hydrogen is an attractive alternative to replace fossil fuels. It
is the least polluting fuel, when hydrogen is used the only
exhaust is pure water, and it is potentially everywhere being
the most common element on the earth.
Vehicle emissions account for a significant portion of
greenhouse gas emissions. In this study, hydrogen and fossil
fueled buses are compared, using their environmental and
operating characteristics. The results of the comparison
indicate that hydrogen use in buses offer great benefits over
fossil fueled buses.
