Lambayeque possesses 4 main hydrographic river basins,
with 600.000 hectares of arable and about 727.000 potential
hectares for crops. The main crops are rice and sugar cane. In case of rice, the byproduct represents one of the most relevant environmental regional and countrywide problems. Now it is being burning without control thus generating hazardous effects nearby.
The technology of gasification system not only represents
a technological opportunity in the use of this renewable raw
material, but also an environmental-social-economic
opportunity in a scenario based on new energetic vectors, like hydrogen. This article analyses the feasibility to implement a new sustainable energetic system in an important productive sector for the economy of the country.
