Topics: Gas dynamics, Turbulence, Flow-structure interaction, Supersonic flows, Visualization techniques
This movie shows the smoke visualization of the round jet with a parabolic mean velocity profile blown into the flat plate boundary layer. The initial region of the jet is a purely laminar flow with no vortex structures. The main core of the initial parabolic jet gradually becomes thinner as long as the jet is blowing into the cross flow, with the boundary between the jet and the cross flow remaining stable until the maximum position of its flexion
Flow visualization in the water supply tank: water supply and drain pipes are at one end of the tank, a circular baffle plate is installed in front of the outlet pipe and a diverging nozzle is installed in the inlet pipe.
