Resumo

The advantages of electrical contact arc handling of metals are connected with spontaneous fanning the vapour discharge. The conditions under which appearance such discharge are defined by the velocity of coming together of electrodes and power gained by an electrode gap on a contact phase, At achievement of a certain level of energy within contact area occurs a heat explosion that moves over to vapour electrical discharge of high pressure.
The designed models shows process of electronic an ion current redistribution in the near cathode region during existence of discharge. This information has essential meaning as the increase of part of ion current in the near cathode region bring significant increase of the cathode wearing.
The obtained results about redistribution of energy between electrodes are confirmed by the experimental data.
