Resumo

In this study the overall efficiency and productivity of a selected sample of electricity generating companies, most of which are located to the South East Asia, is analysed. Three different aspects are investigated:
• The degree of productive efficiency relative to an efficiency frontier.
• The differences in total factor productivity certain years.
• The rate of productivity growth of some companies over time.
Two related methods are applied. Productive efficiency measures are derived on the basis of the so called Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) Approach, and total factor productivity differences and total factor productivity growth is measured by a Malmquist index.
