Resumo
The paper shows a Research Project developed thanks to the
collaboration among CIRPS (Interuniversity Centre for
Sustainable Development) of the University of Rome "La
Sapienza", the Province of Reggio Calabria and the National
Park Agency of "Aspromonte". The project is aimed at
quantifying the energy potential, through H2 production of
biomass in the area included in the National Park of
"Aspromonte" and the experimental procedures to produce H2
from the resources of the territory.
The Laboratory will be located in the heart of the National Park, in the South of Italy, and is expected to be the focal point for future H2 production.
Among the several biomass typologies available in the area, humids (agricultural and food residual and manure) and wood waste appeared to be suitable at the first level of analysis.
In the research Laboratory two pilot plants will be installed to obtain hydrogen from the respective biomass.
The first hydrogen production line is made by the connection between an anaerobic digester, able to produce biogas (CH4 at 60%) from humid biomass, connected in series to a particular steam reformer able to obtain H2.
The second hydrogen production line consists in a gasification reactor directly fed by wood biomass.
