Аннотация
The Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer (PDPA) generally ignores the possibility that droplets may absorb light and the analysis of the phase Doppler technique is based on the assumption of transparent non-absorbing spherical particle. The purpose of the present work is to study the response of a phase Doppler particle analyzer to lightabsorbing particles. Water drops with dye was used in this investigation and the method of geometric optics also was used as the basis for this study. Attempts were made to quantify the influence of the absorption on the measurement. The effect of the location of collection optics from different scatter on the PDPA was also studied. The vibrating-orifice droplet generator was used to generate the monodispersed drop stream. The trajectory of drop stream relative to the measuring volume and the laser polarization were also concerned.
