Аннотация

Precision measurements that are based on the measurement of point coordinates, strongly depend on the positioning and orientation of the measured dimensions inside the workspace of the measurement system. The statistical volumetric error for atypical coordinate measurement machine can be readily calculated; this not the case when two or more independent measuring systems are integrated to make such measurements.. The analysis presented in this paper allows for a suitable dimension or systems' components positioning and orientation to be determined. The pursued accuracy level may thus be achieved by trying alternative measurement layouts. Results produced by means of the developed algorithm are also given for a system that measures the dimensions of a machined workpiece held on the machine tool worktable. The measuring system does not use the cutting machine to make any measurement.
