Аннотация
This paper describes a trajectory analysis of the inertia collection of monodisperse- and polydisperse-droplets by horizontal circular cylinders in a downward flow of gas-liquid mist, in order to obtain fundamental data on heat-exchanger design. The effect of far-upstream droplet-size distribution and the blockage effect of gas-phase flow on the local collection efficiency and on the velocity and size-distribution of droplets on impingement are examined. Furthermore, general correlating equations for these results and a new equivalent diameter of polydisperse-droplets are proposed.
