Anodic process on a glassy carbon electrode in KCl-LiCl and KCl-LiCl-NaCl-CsCl melts


In present work we make an attempt to extend a temperature diapason of anodic processes investigations in alkaline chloride melts in low temperature region. We have selected a low melting systems: KCl-LiCl and KCl-LiCl-NaCl-CsCl (Tmelt= 546 K [1]) for this purpose. The working diapason of temperatures was from 573 to 873 K. Experiments were carried out using chronopotentiometry. We used stationary and non-stationary (transients) methods. We disclosed the detailed description of this methods in ours previous articles [2,3]. A gas-diffusion chloride electrode was used as counterelectrode. We used a chlorine/chloride reference electrode and a glassy carbon working electrode .We worked under a dry chlorine atmosphere in all cases.
