Аннотация
The study on the prediction of the spray flow in confined jets has been carried out experimentally and numerically. Numerical simulation is based on one-way coupling because the loading is 4.5% ~ 8.2% and the evaporation of spray droplets can be ignored. The characteristics of the flow fields in confined jets are estimated by the SIMPLE algorithm employing the k-ε turbulence model. Representative sample droplets are randomly selected from the droplet size distribution equation of Nukiyama-Tanasawa.
Each droplet trajectory calculated by the DDM which allows that the influences of turbulence on droplet dispersion are presented. Also the gross spray behavior is considered by averaging over a statistically significant sample droplets. The calculations agree qualitatively with the measurements, however, there exist some discrepancies quantitatively. These discrepancies are seemed to be due to uncertainties at the initial conditions of spray droplet and the turbulent dispersion of droplets.
