Аннотация
At the Transferzentrum Raumfahrtsysteme a new plasma torch for steam and for oxidizing plasma gases including pure oxygen has been developed for environmental applications.
To avoid extensive electrode erosion using gases containing oxygen, a special configuration of the electrodes is used. As a result of this development the described plasma torch PBR08 was run for several hours with about 0,5 g/s steam and about 0,05 g/s Argon as protection of the cathode without erosion problems at a power level of 8 to 32 kW.
Together with this torch, the complete operating subsystems were developed containing an evaporator system for the water, the cooling system and the power supply.
