Over the past years, different ideas have been developed, discussed, implemented, and evolved. As many studies have acknowledged, built environments account for a significant portion of energy consumption and impacts on the natural environment due to fossil fuel consumption and resource use. Such a phenomenon is observed in both the United States and China.
