Аннотация

The steam velocity distribution within the LEI test facility obtained by a numerical simulation using the FLUENT6 code is presented. The model is benchmarked against experimental and theoretical results available in the literature for both free and impinging jets. It is shown that reasonable agreement is achieved. Computational results obtained using different turbulence models, e.g. imposed turbulent viscosity, several k-ε options and a range of "porous region" modelling options are compared. The analysis of the results shows that a developed model could be used to simulate not only free and impinging jets but that an employment the "porous region" option available in the FLUENT code makes it possible to simulate the condensation process in vapour-liquid systems.
