This movie shows the experimental results on the role of streaky structures in the process of evolution of the plane jet initiated by the gas outflow from the classical nozzle with the "top-hat" mean velocity profile at the nozzle exit. It can be seen that the process of interaction of streaky structures with the jet leads to the appearance of Λ- or Ω-like vortices.
