Abstrakt
The disintegration of a liquid jet injected in a subsonic cross-flow has been studied. A simple analytical model gives an expression for the jet trajectory, the radius of curvature of the jet and its acceleration. From flow visualisation, by mean of a CCD camera, a morphological classification of the different modes of break-up is given. The determination of characteristic break-up scales has been achieved using an image processing.
