Sinopsis
In this paper some preliminary results of the modelling of viscous flow of a fluid fuel in a spray nozzle with applied electric field are presented.
For the given geometry of the nozzle, fluid properties, inflow rate, applied potentials at the electrodes, the numerical model gives the velocity, hydrodynamic pressure, electric field, electric potential and space charge density distributions. Based on calculated results, it is possible to suggest such an optimal nozzle geometry so that the leakage current - spray current ratio is minimal.
