Sinopsis
The stability of numerical analysis on stratified two-phase flow has been studied. The stability analysis based on Neumann's method was carried out for one-dimensional finite difference schemes. A stability criterion was shown in terms of an eigenvalue of amplification matrix. The numerical instability of accelerated flow and the growth of small amplitude sinusoidal void waves were studied. It was found that the instability and wave growth did not depend on the stability limit derived by the classical potential theory or on the ill-posed condition, but depended only on the stability limit determined by the eigenvalue of amplification matrix.
