These videos show visualization of the flow structure evolution behind the semicylindrical rib in the channel at different stages of transition to turbulence. It is shown that starting from a certain Reynolds number, large-scale vortices are generated in the mixing layer behind the smoothly shaped rib. The main stages of the shear layer stability loss and vortex generation are observed.
