ATTITUDE OF A HIGH SPEED LIQUID JET CONTROLLED BY INTERNAL CAVITATION IN A NOZZLE
DOI: 10.1615/ICLASS-94.370
pages 286-293
要約
A new method for controlling the injection direction and the spatial dispersion of a liquid spray is proposed. This method is based on the occurrence of constricted flow and cavitation controlled by the entrance shape of the nozzle, which greatly affects the break-up process of the jet issuing from a nozzle. The applications of this method for spray control are, for example, mixing controls of diesel sprays in direct injection diesel engines, EFI injectors for
spark injection engines and direction controls of spray guns for industrial use. As a basic study for this method, the relationship between the pattern of a non-symmetric constricted flow in a nozzle and the spray dispersion characteristics were analyzed. The results show that a spray injected from a non-symmetric shape nozzle has the possibility of active attitude control by the injection pressure.
