Resumo
The impact of a polydispersed, hollow cone spray onto a centered conical surface is examined. The results take the form of local measurements of droplets size and velocity distributions using a phase Doppler anemometer. Of particular interest is the effect of changing the liquid film thickness on the impact surface. A thicker liquid film results in higher droplet concentration near the surface, however also droplets with lower velocities. The presented data are suitable also for verification of numerical simulation using Euler/Lagrange treatment of the continuum/dispersed phase.
