Resumo
An experimental study is presented for turbulent flow in a pipe having several geometrical shaped inserts. Ring, square profile and triangular profile shaped inserts were used as turbulent promoters to enhance heat transfer in forced convection pipe flow. Experimentally obtained Nusselt number and friction factor values were presented as a function of Reynolds number. The variation of heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics with respect to the empty pipe values were determined. Uncertainty analysis is also performed
