ULTRASOUND IMAGING AND FOURIER ANALYSIS OF A VELOCITY FIELD
Abstract
Imaging of flow fields has a very important role in the study of fluid flow and beat transfer, but there is an essentially different meaning between experimental work and numerical work. In experimental work, flow visualization comes first for the intuitive understanding of the flow fields, followed by derivation of quantitative velocity fields. In numerical work, on the other band, a computation of velocity fields is performed first, from which its visualization is made for a visual check of the computed results and to further an intuitive understanding. Even as the capability of computer resources becomes much higher, the above difference is essential and cannot be resolved.
