Abstract
This paper provides a review and some experimental results concerning the fluid flow and heat transfer in the rotating-disk systems. Stress is put on the self-sustained oscillating flow phenomena and its influence on the heat-transfer characteristics. Starting with the case of a single free disk, the paper includes rotor-stator system and co-rotating parallel-disk system with and without through flow.
